He was predeceased by: his parents, John Carlton Carruth and Maude Pearl Fleming Carruth; and his siblings, Jack, Fred Carruth and Clara Jones.
He is survived by: his wife Janet Ann Nix Carruth of Gainesville; his children, Rosanna Carder (Bubba) of Lula, Christie Robinson (Jerry) of Lula and Cabrielle Rutherford of Gainesville; his siblings, J. C. Carruth of Florida, Robert Carruth of Locust Grove, Norris Carruth of Riverdale, Charles Carruth of Cornelia, Billy Carruth of Jefferson, Sara Eskew of Jefferson and Mary Grace Blackstock of Talmo; his grandchildren, Logan Carder (Samantha), Samantha Robinson, Ethan Carder, Dawson Carder and Amelia Rutherford; and his niece Misty Howard. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
