He was predeceased by: his parents, Reverend Austin and Lessie Pethel. He is survived by: his children, Kevin Pethel (Joanna) and Krista Martin (Tommy); his grandchildren, Dalton, Jacob, Grant Pethel, Ella and Olivia Martin; and his sisters, Pat Sisk (Scottye) and Becky Keith. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Michael J. Fox foundation for helping find a cure for Parkinson's.
