He was predeceased by: his parents, Denver Smith and Sue Smith. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Jean Chambers Smith of Gainesville; his daughters, Teena (Woody Dobbs) and Terri (Chris Kelly); his sister Barbara; his brother-in-law Ray Shubert of Gainesville; his siblings, Dallette Shewbert of Cleveland and Mike; his sister-in-law Pam Smith of Gillsville; and his grandchildren, Ansley, Madeline Dobbs, Jackson, Trevor, Ella and Emmie Kelly. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and other loving relatives.

In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
