He was predeceased by: his parents, Lee A. Whelchel and Martha L. Nora Clark Whelchel; his wife Brenda Nell Chapman Whelchel; his granddaughters, Nikki Brooke Page and Paislee Loren Page; and his son-in-law Brian Keith Page.
He is survived by: his children, Charles Daniel Whelchel of Gainesville and Lisa Whelchel Page of Gainesville; his grandchildren, Caleb, Elisha Kinsey of Gillsville, Zack, Brisa Noles of Clarksville and Jordy Page (Sierra Stone) of Gainesville; and his great grandchild Harper Kinsey.
In lieu of family the family requests donations to Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in Charles memory.
