He is survived by: his children, Linda Sims-Roland, Lynn Sims, Kimberly Sims, Laqeisha Hayes and Tyree Sims; his close friend Betty Jean Tanner; and his siblings, Shirley Stephens, Toni Johnson, Brenda Daniel, Judy Mize, Beverly Tate, Curtis Jr. Tate (Lynn), Scherree Tate and Milton Smith. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; aunts; uncles; 2 brother-in-laws, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and family.
