She was predeceased by: her parents, James Leonard "Jim" and Bertha Mae Ledford; her former husband Cothern Tip Gillespie; her husband Eston O'Neal "Neal" Alton; her son Stanley Ray Gillespie; and her siblings, Willie Ledford, Edward A "Bill" Ledford, James "Jimmy" Ledford, Pearl Smith, Lois Wilson, Florence Westbrook and Barbara Thompson.
She is survived by: her son Garry M. Gillespie of Atlanta, Georgia; her daughter-in-law Dodie Gillespie (Stanley) of Atlanta; her granddaughter Amy Gillespie Silverstein (Steve) of Atlanta; her great grandchildren, Carly Silverstein and Sydney Silverstein of Atlanta; her stepdaughter Jan Alton Cobb (Gene) of Gainesville, Georgia; her stepgranddaughters, Tresa Entrekin Martin of Columbia, S. C. and Tonya Entrekin of Chapel Hill, N. C.; and her stepgreat-grandson Reed Ellis Martin of Columbia, S. C..
