He was predeceased by: his parents, Ben, Sr. Ash and Era Wilkins Ash; and his siblings, Barbara Anderson, Ford M. Ash, Sr. and Dr. Wade Ash.
He is survived by: his wife Alice; his daughter Karen (Lee Chapman); his granddaughter Haley (Micah Shue); his great grandchildren, Oaklee Wren Shue and Bentley Kay Shue; his grandson Hayden Chapman; and his sisters-in-law, Martha Ash (Boots), Marie Ash, Elizabeth Anderson, Darlene Taylor Gilstrap and Betty Martin. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Emory Eye Center for Research in memory of Mr. Ash.
