He was predeceased by: his wife Jean Wills Hothem; his parents, Edith Irene Maurer Hothem and Luther Clark Hothem; and his siblings, Maurice Clark Hothem (MC), Lawrence Lee Hothem (Lar), Ronald Eugene Hothem (Ron) and Mary Rae Hothem Gambrell.

He is survived by: his former wife Kathleen Young Hothem; his children, Betsy Randall (Jeff), Kristy Arechaga, Andrew Hothem (Jennifer) and Nancy Linkesh (Mark); and his grandchildren, Sydney Hammond, Micah Randall, Noah Randall, Sabrina Arechaga, Sebastian Arechaga, Steele Hothem, Harper Hothem and Jack Hothem (Huck).
