He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry McElveen and Bertie Lee McElveen; and his sister-in-law Lynn Striker. He is survived by: his wife Cheryl Gibbons McElveen; his sons, Alan Rimes McElveen, Jr. (Kathryn) of Travelers Rest, SC and Zachary Gibbons McElveen (Kylie) of Atlanta, GA; his brother Harry McElveen (Sylvia) of Cumming, GA.; his grandchildren, Luke, Samuel, Dave, Anna, Watson and Sloane McElveen; and his nieces and nephews, Bill McElveen (Liz), Merri Black, Ginny Hall (Tony), Sidney Baxter (Sarah) and Joshua Striker (Debra).
