It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Maxey Parker of Funston, Georgia, born in Charleston, South Carolina, who passed away on May 3, 2021, at the age of 71, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel T. Parker and Mary Jo Maxey Parker; and his brother Michael Parker of Wikieup, Arizona.. He is survived by: his pet Mattie; his wife Gayla Ann Dykes Parker of Funston; his children, Jo Beth Key (Brian) of Norman Park and Rhett Parker of Doerun; his grandchildren, Katherine Brogdon (Cole), Kennedy Key, Sam Key, Max Parker, Tate Parker and Evan Parker; his sister Jane Sullivan (Bill) of Mt. Pleasant, SC; and his sisters-in-law, Laraine Yarbrough (Aldwin) of Augusta and Becky Harrod.
