He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Lanier Chatman and Bernice Marie Buchanan Chatman; his daughter Merina LaRae Nolen; and his brother Michael Chatman. He is survived by: his wife Merina Sheets Chatman; his children, Shelly Veitenheimer (Ray), Jena Leigh Chatman, Isabelle June Chatman, Mary Katherine Chatman, Buster Lee Breed (Shantell) and Adam Lanier Chatman; his siblings, Teresa Hobbs (Leroy), Mary Chatman, Terry Chatman and Scott Chatman; his grandchildren, Michael Bradley Nolen (Rebecca), Kimberly Merina Richards (Dustin), Dustin Lee Jones, Kevin Veitenheimer, Angela Harrington (Jarrad), Breanna Veitenheimer, Sara Veitenheimer, Bailee Chatman and Lacey Anderson; and his great grandchildren, Michael Nolen and Aubrey Perrault.
