She is survived by: her children, Gloria Ballard (Randy) of Carrollton, Vickie Thornton of Franklin, Beverly Thornton of Carrollton, Kathy Heflin (Gary) of Carrollton, Karon Thomas of Spartanburg, SC, Wendy Thornton of Carrollton and Johnnie B. Thornton, Jr. (Ieva) of Franklin; her sisters, Dorothy Wilkes Smith of Atlanta and Lucille Wilkes Wyatt of Bowdon; and her sisters-in-law, Mary Thornton, Artist Andrews and Ida V. Bohannon. She is also survived by 20 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.
