She was predeceased by: her parents, Charlie Reed Laney and Ola Doris Richardson Laney; her husband Lamar Skinner; and her siblings, Judy Mothershed, Nancy Perry, Fayzell Janny, Mary Turner, Harold Laney and Charlie T. Laney.
She is survived by: her children, Joann Tucker of Pine Mountain, Matthew Cotton (Elizabeth) of West Point and Kenneth Skinner of Franklin; her sister Jean Lambert of LaGrange; and her sisters-in-law, Nell Skinner and Gail Skinner. She is also survived by ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
