He is survived by: his daughters, Kim (Mike Abercrombie) and Kelli Brandenburg of Douglasville, Georgia; his siblings, JoAnn (Jimmy Strickland), Johnny (Marie Brandenburg), Phillip Brandenburg of North Carolina and David (Thelma Jean Stitt); his grandchildren, Michelle, Hawk Gunter, Elizabeth, Kyle Kanzler, Cliff and Taylor Brandenburg; and his great grandchildren, Grae Gunter, Walker Brandenburg and Lydia Brandenburg.
