He was predeceased by: his parents, Ben Robert Avery and Lois Mapp Avery; his wife Nancy Avery; his son Chuck Avery; and his brother Robert Avery.
He is survived by: his daughters, Helen Dixson (Mike) of Bowdon and Charlotte Belcher (Chuck) of Perry; his daughter-in-law Dana Avery of Ephesus; and his siblings, Maxine Dunmire of Ohio and Ben Avery (Karen) of Ohio. He is also survived by four grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren.
