He was predeceased by: his parents, George Herman Blackwell and Lydia Grace Waites Blackwell; his wife Glenda Enix Blackwell; his sister Bettie Blackwell Austin; and his son Joshua Nicholson.
He is survived by: his children, Susan Blackwell Orr (James), John Gary Blackwell (DeAnna) and Christopher M. Blackwell; his grandchildren, Bailey Orr, Cameron Blackwell, Jonathon Blackwell, Jordan Blackwell, Dallas Blackwell, Brianna Nicholson, Hayden Nicholson and Zachery Cotton; his great grandchildren, Addie, Vera and Izzy; and his sister Charlotte Blackwell Patterson. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Pleasant Hill Methodist Church.
