He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Lee Melton and Leslie Blake Rutland; and his siblings, Robert Eugene Melton, Leslie Blake Rutland, Jr. and Sybil Louise King.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Steele Rutland; his children, Vicki Rae Whitt Daniel (Clay), Brad Randolph Whitt and Stuart Rutland; his grandchildren, Carey Wayne Hammock, Jr., Christopher Logan Hammock (Tori), Andrew Rutland, Leslie Rae Hammock Pangle (Kyle), Jonathan Maxamus Rutland and Rebeca Del Alba Rutland; his great grandchildren, Kayden Zane Vernon and Aesir Osiris Hammock; and his sisters, Mary Ann Rutland Adams (Dayton), Maxine Rutland Kana (Paul), Francis Rutland Little (Danny) and Mary Kate Rutland.
