He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert H. McConnell, Sr. and Barbara Johnson McConnell; and his nephew Lee Rickman. He is survived by: his wife Maria Mathews of Fort Valley; his caregiver Stanley Bakon; his children, Robert H. McConnell, III (Taylor) of Charleston, SC, Emma McConnell of San Francisco, CA and Madison McConnell of New York, NY; and his sisters, Patti Rickman (Tim) of High Point, NC and Jane Boyd (Gary) of Birmingham, AL. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and other extended family.
