He was predeceased by: his parents, Reginald Cormier and Florence Cormier; and his daughter Jennifer MacPherson. He is survived by: his wife Linda Stapleton Meade-Cormier; his son Joseph Cormier, Jr. (Christine); his grandsons, John MacPherson, Jr. and Blake Meade; and his brother Paul Cormier.
