He was predeceased by: his father Fred William Manzer Sr.; his son Alfred T. Cortez; and his brothers-in-law, Dick Treadwell and Charlie McNulty. He is survived by: his wife Lucy E. Delay Manzer; his daughters, Kathryn Inez Cortez and Lucille E. "Libby" Howe (Mike); his grandchildren, Melissa Dawn, Christopher Cortez, Cindy Cortez and Sandra Howe; his sisters, Jackie Treadwell and Shirley McNulty; and his caregivers, Deborah, Dean Cassidy and Ollie Cassidy. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews; and loving friends, adopted family.
