It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Cynthia Gail Lane (Fort Valley, Georgia), born in Hawkinsville, Georgia, who passed away on August 31, 2024, at the age of 67, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Woodroe Wilson McGhee, Sr. and Delores McGhee (Rawls); her husband John Henry Lane, Jr.; her son Karim A. Lane; and her siblings, Jameelah Shabazz and Woodroe Wilson McGhee, Jr..
She is survived by: her children, John Christopher Lane of Macon, GA, Akyla Lane and Devontae Lane; her great grandchildren, Josiah and Mathias; her siblings, Mary Norman, Horace McGhee (Jenny), Gerri Taylor, Rosemary Lane, Marvin Lester, Gary McGhee, Carol Mack (Willie), LeLetta Ezell (Charles) and LaShonda Flanders (Stanley, Sr.); her aunts, Carintha Rawls, Bernice Rawls and Della Rawls; her nephew Robert Scott; her sisters-in-law, Ruth Lane, Katherine Lane and Doris Lane; her niece Shirley Adams; her godmother Doris Fuller; and her goddaughter Tina Gordon. She is also survived by nieces, nephews.
