He was predeceased by: his wife Betty Ruth Campbell Rabanus; his father Daniel William Rabanus; and his siblings, Faye Trask and William Fredrick Rabanus. He is survived by: his mother Carrie Allene Rabanus Smith; his sons, Cory Rabanus (Cari) and Chad Rabanus; his siblings, Linda Brooks (Danney) and Ray Rabanus; and his stepchildren, Eric Johnson (Kathy), Alan Johnson (Kristina) and Janet Scarbary. He is also survived by several grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
