He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Herman and Susan Autry Smith; and his sisters, Wanda Poteet (Charles) and Joyce Poston (Larry). He is survived by: his wife Willie Pickett Smith; and his siblings, Marie Carter, Linda Ferguson (Richard), Shirley Burger (Roy), Nancy Hayes, Ronald Smith (Paula) and Don Deakins (Royce). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
