It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Richard Kennett of Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia, who passed away on February 20, 2025, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Kennett and Thelma Burns Kennett; and his granddaughter Kayla Kennett Patton. He is survived by: his wife Shelby Kennett; his children, Regina Kennett, Rhonda Hurst, Tracy Lanning (Andrew), Matthew Elsea and Chris Kennett (Betsy); and his siblings, June Kennett, Sue Kennett Wall, Arvie Kennett and Freddie Kennett (Gail). He is also survived by nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; numerous other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 25th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the W. L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home-Ft. Oglethorpe Chapel (555 W Cloud Springs Rd, Rossville, GA 30742). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 26th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Wednesday, February 26th 2025 at the Lakewood Memory Gardens South (325 Greens Lake Rd, Rossville, GA 30741).
