She was predeceased by: her parents, Eugene Cooper and Frances Cooper; her husband C. D. Penland; her son Forest Penland; and her brother David Cooper.
She is survived by: her sons, Van Penland (Becky) and Gene Penland (Vicky); her daughter-in-law Tammy Penland; her siblings, Jerry Cooper (Carla) and Susan Patrick (Denny); and her sister-in-law Janet Cooper. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; along with several nieces and nephews.
