He was loved and cherished by many people including: his significant other Barbara Jean McDermott; his parents, Mary Margaret and John Thomas McDermott; his wife Barbara Preiss; his grandchild Grandpoppy Jack; his son Scot David McDermott; his sister Marilyn "Mickey" Lynch (Mickey); his daughter Margaret Mary "Peggy" Bruning; his son-in-law Mike Bruning; his children, Betheny, John, Diane McDermott and Paula McDermott; his son-in-law Matthew Scoggins; his grandchildren-in-law, Bela Riga and Ren Zeki; his son Kevin McDermott; and also, Judy McDermott (Michael Spalding) and Jackson Luck Spalding.
