He was predeceased by: his siblings, Ross, Fred Stewart of Summerville, Glenn Stewart of Fort Oglethorpe, Sarah Sprayberry, Maybell Howard and Ruth Taylor.

He is survived by: his wife Carolyn June Leigh Stewart; his daughters, Deborah Stewart Perry (Ben) and Kaye Smith Haskin DeVane (Mark) of Fort Oglethorpe; and his granddaughter Amanda Bowen of Fort Oglethorpe. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
