She is survived by: her husband Willie Thornton, Jr.; her children, Janara Austin (Garrious), Willie Thornton, III and Jonathan Thornton; her sisters, Carolyn Smith and Kathleen Rizer; and her siblings-in-law, Rosalie Ransom, Willie Mae Rutledge (Jessie), Sarah Lue Bradley, Darlene Hooks (Alan), Michael Thornton (Cynthia) and Jessie Thornton (Joy). She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
