With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Cecilia Mae Newton Sargeant of Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia, who passed away on August 6, 2023 at the age of 81. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Carlos Newton and Thelma Macon Newton; her son-in-law David Waits; her brother Jimmy "Bruce" Newton; and her sister-in-law Glenda Newton.

She is survived by: her husband Jack Sargeant Sr.; her children, Judy Waits and Jack Sargeant Jr.; and her grandchildren, David III, Aimee, Cecilia, Aaron, Katherine and Jack III. She is also survived by ten great grandchildren as well as many extended family and friends.
