With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Sandra Leigh Mitchell (Forsyth, Georgia), born in Boston, Massachusetts, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on June 30, 2024 at the age of 78. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her brothers-in-law, Billy Lancaster and Eric Engstrom. She is survived by : her sisters, Anne Mitchell Stephens (Clyde) of Cleveland, TN, Fran Mitchell Lancaster of Forsyth and Jamille Mitchell Sergent (Rod); her nieces, Dr. Jill Lancaster (Chris Ivey) and Mallory Stephens (Marvin Ovando); her nephew Preston Lancaster (Danielle); her great-nephews, Kade Lancaster and Evan Ovando; and her great-niece Kara Lancaster.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, July 3rd 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Forsyth Methodist Church (68 W Johnston St, Forsyth, GA 31029). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, July 3rd 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the donor's favorite charity.

“I am really sorry to hear of the death of Sandra. She was an inspiration to all who knew her. I was in her class at school. We had the same middle and last names though I spelled my middle name Lee. Our fathers had offices next to each other upstairs over the drug store. Tommy and I send our condolences to her family and friends in Forsyth and beyond. Suzanne Mitchell Parrish”
