It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Raymond James Newton Sr. of Forsyth, Georgia, who passed away on February 21, 2022, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Leo Newton and Jewel Bryant Newton; his daughter Carolyn Rodgers Newton; and his siblings, Myrtice Newton Ivey, Jane Newton Ivey, Louise Newton Maddox, Allene Newton Bush, Sonny Newton, Linwood Newton and Bob Newton.
He is survived by: his wife Gwin King Newton; his daughter Natalie Newton Butler (Jimmy); his stepchildren, Timothy Michael Walker, Kristen Walker Hawkins (Will) and Erin Walker Cromer; his grandchildren, Misty Michelle Newton, Cody Ryan Lancaster and Conner Patrick Butler; his stepgrandchildren, James Mathew Butler (Alicia), Jonathan David Butler (Shelley), Sydney Walker Rumney (Brooks), Morgan Holleman, Evan Walker, Riley Hawkins, Payton Cromer and Addison Cromer; and his sister Dottie Newton. He is also survived by 7 step-great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations in Raymond's memory be made to the food bank at Forsyth United Methodist Church or to the charity of your choice.
