He is survived by: his wife Denise Schmidt; his children, Erin Nicole Schmidt, Delana Rae Schmidt of Woodstock, Georgia, Sarah Elizabeth Carothers of Forsyth and Michael Leland Carothers of Wilmington; his mother Debbie Meehan (Ludford) of Pensacola, Florida; his sister Michelle Whatley (Jason) of McDonough, Georgia; his aunts, Jodi Teeter (Bobby) of Columbia and Becky Hall Brown of Queen Creek, Arizona; and his uncle Ricky Hall of McDonough. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
