He is survived by: his wife Clara Mae Newberry Mercer; his children, Nora Mercer, David Mercer, Cathy Adams (Jack) of Forsyth and Angie Moore (Mike) of Juliette; and his siblings, Florence Bohannon of Forsyth and Chester Mercer of Myrtle Beach, SC. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
