He was predeceased by: his parents, Gale L. Gifford and Bergetta Rice Gifford Phelps; his siblings, Mike Gifford and Sally Phelps; and his stepfather Leo Phelps.
He is survived by: his children, Scott Gifford, Sean Eric Gifford (Nikki), Shannon Gail Gifford, Garry Lee Gifford, Jr. (Susan), Jesse Gifford (Kelly) and Jason Gifford; and his brothers, Ernest Gifford and David Phelps. He is also survived by fifteen grandchildren.
