He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Carmen; his son Lee Criswell; his daughter-in-law Ellen Criswell; his daughter Christie Kotz; his son-in-law Jeff Kotz; and his daughter Dana Thompson. He was also cherished by 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers Bill requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
