He was predeceased by: his father George Lamar; his sisters, Joanne McDaniel Lumpkin (Hugh) and Hilda McDaniel Kersey (Cecil R.); his nephew Brett Daniel Kersey; his sister-in-law Betty McDaniel; and his parents-in-law, Pearce and Hazel Stapleton.
He is survived by: his wife Frances Hazel Stapleton; his children, Emmett David "Dave" McDaniel, Jr., Dixie McDaniel (Eduardo) of Andrade, Reagan Ann McDaniel, Riley Catherine McDaniel, Lucas Stapleton Andrade and Gabriel Pearce Andrade; his brothers, William Ross McDaniel and George Michael McDaniel (Connie); and his sister-in-law Rosemary Stapleton Kriner (Ken).
