He was predeceased by: his parents, Sylva Tipton and Moena Tipton; his wife Brenda; and his brothers, Dean, Dennis and Denson Tipton.
He is survived by: his children, Connie Tipton of Flowery Branch, GA, Rhonda Tipton Smith of Flowery Branch, GA, Todd Tipton (Gina) of Clarksville, GA and Scott Tipton (Leigh) of Braselton, GA; his grandchildren, Rachel Jamison, Rebecca Spearman, Haley Smith, Rane Hoge, Storm Tipton, Breeze Sprowl, Destin Tipton and Taylor Jones; his great grandchildren, Lilianna Jamison, Vivian Jones, River Hoge, Aria Tipton and Gibson Tipton; and his sisters, JoAnn Lyle and Judy House.
