He was predeceased by: his wives, Barbara Kennedy and Mary Ivie Kennedy; his son Jack Kennedy; and his siblings, John of Mildred, Annie Laura, Jim, Charles, Nell, Jack, Larry, Gloria and Janice.

He is survived by: his grandchildren, Paige Patterson, Justin Kennedy, Tom Ivie, Steven Ivie and Jason Ivie; and his stepchildren, Doug Ivie (Kathy), Steve Ivie (LeeAnn) and Janis Ivie. He is also survived by 3 great-granddaughters; and 2 great great-grandsons.
