With heavy hearts, we announce the death of John Desmond McCarthy of Flowery Branch, Georgia, born in Atlanta, Georgia, who passed away on November 30, 2023 at the age of 65. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his father Richard Desmond McCarthy. He is survived by: his mother Dorothy Lee Miller McCarthy of Dunwoody; his wife Trena; his daughters, LilaLee and Macon; his sister Megan McCarthy (Ed Lieber) of Larchmont; his stepsiblings, Cannon Stoffel (Jay) and William Simpson of Winston-Salem; his niece Caroline Solano (Ariel); his nephew Matthew Scarpa (Madeline); and his great-niece Elizabeth Scarpa of Larchmont.

In lieu of flowers or other memorials, a college scholarship fund has been created for LilaLee and Macon.
