He was predeceased by: his parents, Finies Harold Melton and Geraldine Mae Melton; and his daughter Jenny Marie Melton. He is survived by: his wife Josephine "Josie" Theresa Melton; his children, Jesse Lee Melton (Chantal) and Lacey Mae Powers (Kyle); his grandchildren, Raegan, Townes, Dylan, Carter and Kellar; and his sisters, Cindy Hucker, Linda Bates, Geraldine Parat and Kimberly McCawley.
