He was predeceased by: his parents, James Edward Smith and Edna Earl Eddingfield Smith; and his brother Joey Smith. He is survived by: his wife Elaine Smith; his children, Burt Smith, Jr., Benjamin Smith and Charles Pressley; his grandchildren, Camron Pressley, Madison, Maya Pressley, Trinity Smith, Lilyanna Smith, Magnolia Smith and Charlee Smith; his great grandchild Nova Pressley; and his siblings, James (Bonita Smith), Rocket (Phyllis Smith), Tina Smith, Carol, Emory Rosier, Peggy and Lee Holcomb. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
