He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Robert Louis Smith and Lurlene Burford Smith; his wife Nancy McMichael Smith; his children, Natalie (Kenneth), Sally (Steven) and Rhett (Anna); his grandchildren, Braden Sumner, Sam Sumner, Lena Sumner, Benton Jarratt, Declan Smith and Hadley Smith; his sister Judy Smith Skinner (Tim); his brother-in-law Malcom McMichael (Martha); his nieces, Lori Skinner McNeil (Chris), Alicia Skinner Oncale (Heath) and Valerie McMichael; his nephew Tommy McMichael (Kelly); his aunt Pat Smith Chambers; and his uncle Larry Smith (Linda).
