He was predeceased by: his parents, Boyce Lappin and Thorna "Toni"; and his siblings, Deloyce Ann Cooke, Judith "Judy" Ann Nelson and Jean Hicks.

He is survived by: his wife Mary Cooke; his children, Matthew Cooke, Margaret Cooke, William Cooke, Sarah Blevins, Cynthia O'Neal, Will Blevins, Crystal Lingerfelt and April Lingerfelt; and his sister Nora Brown. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and work family members.
