He was predeceased by: his wife Cheryl "Sherry" Dawn Derryberry Cooper; and his parents, Larry Cooper and Ernestine Cooper. He is survived by: his sons, Derik Cooper (Brooke) of Nashville, TN and Dylan Cooper (Shelby) of Lookout Valley, TN; his sister Debbie McCarty (Dan); and his grandchildren, Rhiley, Olivia and Henry. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
