She was predeceased by: her husband James O. Gaines (Bubba); her parents, John V. Hixson and Dorothy Hixson; her son James V. Gaines (Jimmy); and her sisters, Nelda Sue Hixson Cunningham and Barbara Smith (Frank).
She is survived by: her daughter Tami Powell (David); her grandsons, Jamie Gaines (Tiffany Jacks), John Powell (Tonya) and Matt Powell; and her great grandchildren, Desiree Powell, Raylin Powell, Jaylon, Tylon, Mariam and Maddison Gaines. She is also survived by 5 great great grandchildren; and other extended family.
