He was predeceased by: his parents, Reverend Carl and Virginia Williams; his sister Caroline Williams; and his brother-in-law Bobbie Gilbert. He is survived by: his wife Johnnie Wilson Williams; his children, Ed Williams, Jr. (Robyn) and Elizabeth Cates (David); and his sisters, Doris Gilbert and JoAnn Robertson (Cecil).
