He was predeceased by: his wife Margie Woods; and his son Walter J. Thacker, Jr. (Larry). He is survived by: his children, Kim Davis (Tommy) of Fleming, Wendy Shuman (Perry) of Fleming, Lisa Cato (Willie) of Hinesville, Michael Thacker (Brandi) of Shellman Bluff and Keith Thacker (Bertha) of Midway. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
