He was predeceased by: his parent Thomas Eugene Mathews; his brother Grant Lawton Mathews; and his grandparents, Ruby Barfield Hulsey, J. E. Mathews, Bessie Mathews and Christine McCarvey Mathews.
He is survived by: his mother Janice Hulsey Mathews Sellers of Irwin County; his sister Leigh; his nephews, Dylan, Nikki Walker and Triston Walker; his great-nephew Caleb Walker; and his uncle Kathy Mathews of Thomaston.
