He was predeceased by: his parents, Foy Ellis and Clara Conley Ellis; his wife Rosa Young Ellis; his son Joe Ellis; and his siblings, Richard Ellis (Sherry Ellis), Dink Ellis, Ollie Ellis and Patricia Ellis Young.
He is survived by: his daughter Brenda; his son-in-law Gary Willis of Albany; his daughter Marie Roach Kreiser of Albany; his grandchildren, Rosalyn "Dee" Eidson, Brody, Stacey Willis, Michael, Christie Willis, Steve Willis and Glenn Ellis; his great grandchildren, Kaylie Willis, Addyson Willis, Caswell Eidson, Ridley Eidson, Ashton Willis, Brady Willis, Briley Willis and Maya Godwin; and his brother Bobby (Peggy Ellis).
