He is survived by: his children, Danny Nelms, Connie of Fitzgerald, Gary Nelms and Dena of Ocilla; his grandchildren, Lori Nelms Swanson, Amanda Nelms Steverson, Brad, Kayla Nelms Nash, Will and Garrett Nelms; his sisters, Doris McDuffie of Fitzgerald and Joyce Smith of Fitzgerald; and his caregivers, Brenda Austin and Gail Carver. He is also survived by ten great-grandchildren.
